Introduction

Do you ever walk into the grocery store with your phone out looking at a recipe? You got your buggy and your list ready to get all the ingredients. You can’t make any food without adding some sort of spice for flavor. This brings me to the country of Grenada, which is a island of the Caribbean who is well known for their spices. It is referred to as the island of spices. If you are traveling to Grenada, as soon as you land there you are advised to go to the spice market and try the following spices: turmeric (saffron), bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. Grenada makes nutmeg and mace crops and is one of the worlds largest exporter. Gouyave nutmeg processing station is a great place to tour while visiting Grenada. Here, you can see how the spices are grown. If you are looking at somewhere to stay to get the best “Grenada spice experience” then your best bid would be to stay at the Spice Island Beach Resort. Many people come to this resort, because it’s considered the best one in Grenada. There has also been a high number of couples that come here to get married or spend their honey moon here. In my opinion, I can definitely see why Grenada is referred to as the island of spices. Their culture is centered around spices, they even have places to tour and try their spices.
